Located in Colac Quarry, METANOIA Music Festival focus on the contrast between Quarry’s raw material texture and new-build artificial and man-made material textures. METANOIA means after or beyond thought, which is also about changing one’s mind about something. Considering the Colac quarry as an industrial scar, METANOIA aims to heal and relive the scar. METANOIA Music Festival project provides an opportunity for the abandoned quarry to review and examine the relationship between humans and the natural environment. The project encourages visitors to think deeply about the natural and artificial duality. Electronic dance and hip-hop music performances are expected in METANOIA. The Festival project will feature many popular musical acts with the aim of drawing a diverse audience. METANOIA project includes temporary structures like a camping site, temporary shipping container installations, art installation walk, and permanent structures of Healing Museum and METANOIA Music Shell. The theme of the museum is visual art and music. Healing museum not only represents how the quarry relives and heals but also reminds visitors that they can always find themselves healed mentally through music and visual art.
